He is here

Little boy has arrived "Liam" is here and loves the dogs and all of his "new brothers". He loves the dogs too. I am sure there will be issues after this "honeymoon period". A disrupted adoptive placement is going to be hard. Poor kiddo. He will be so confused. Good news is he came with clthes and even his gameBoy! So no running out to get stuff for him. DH Will be home tomorrow. Hard to explain to Liam why dad isn't here now. He will fall into the routine soon enough

Hey for thse 'in the know' what are the chances if the family changes their mind and realizes they made a mistake that Liam will be placed back with them?

Wow, with the way things move at your place...I need to check your blog more often! You definately don't have time to get bored, do you? That is great news! Hoping he settles in well for you. It sounds like your son is handling all of this change very well.

Well my guess is that when he is officially adopted by you guys he is YOURS. And I don't think they could do anything because they have no legal right. And before that, I would think the adoption agency would have to know that would really upset him more and I would hope they wouldn't take him back there. But that is just a guess. Congratulation's!

It depends on how far along the adoption process had gone and what has happened legally since then. Just like with any placement! If the parents had legally adopted the child AND TPR hasn't occured, yes, Liam could go back to them if they change their minds, since he is legally their child just like a biological child. If TPR has already happened, they have no legal rights anymore and would be treated as any other adoptive parents. If legal adoption has not yet occurred, it is probably up to the policies of the agency that placed the child.
