I was told last visit that DSHS would be arranging a transportation service for the kids. They are paying me per mile as it is so what is the difference. So I went the week waiting on the phone call about visitation. I talked to the SW a few times no mention of the visit. OK Mom amd Dad have been flaky.... I assumed that hey no visitation this week. So today I go to take my laptop in for repair. The shop they have doing the warranty service is about 70 miles away. So this morning I pack up the three non school aged kids and we hit the road. I am driving through Seattle and the worker calls saying "are you bringing them to visitation today?" "UMM no I heard nothing, I assumed there was no visitation So I am running my errands I have to today". End of story right? Yup she said so too. Tomorrow I will bring them in for a visit.
But I swear they need to reschedule visits because of the oldests preformance and how far he is behind in school.

- Here I am now... The mother of 4 wonderful boys, present and former foster mom to seven boys!! True at times there is an overload of testosterone and fart humor...but I muddle through well enough hehe. I am spoiled too, there is no lack of gentlemen opening doors, car doors etc... of course that balances out with no lack of bad aim in the bathroom! The news that shocked the world....? We are expecting a baby girl in March 2008!! I am a stay at home mom. I work more now than I did when I held a "real" job. Hubby is in the Navy. I cannot convey how proud I am of him. He is truly the man of my dreams and a better husband than I ever thought I deserved. Well that is the general overview of me ;) enjoy the blog. Don't know something? want to know? ASK. Let the social worker know your concerns regarding the visits. Ask if they can be done after school. If you have anything from the school that shows that he is behind or even a letter from the teacher, let them know. Also, ask if you can have a set visitation schedule. You have six children. You will have appointments and responsibilities out the ying-yang.
I did this and was able to get visits after school and the same day/time every week. Helps. Plus it helps the kids have some consistency with the visit schedule.
Just so happens I have a long email from his teacher addressing his learning difficulties and delays. I emailed her asking how things were going and what I could do at home to help him out. Anyway I printed it out and I will be taking it tomorrow. It is good to have for hs file I anyway I suppose.
These boys truly thrive on rules and structrue. Having a set visitation may, no will do them a lot of good.
